The Mercury-MerCruiser 35-858004K High Performance Oil Filter is a genuine OEM replacement oil filter for select MerCruiser sterndrive and inboard engines. This screw-on oil filter fits MerCruiser GM sterndrive and inboard engines, except V6 models with the oil filter mounted on the engine block. It also fits Mercury Marine manufactured 4.5L and 6.2L sterndrive and inboard engines.

Does Not Fit:

General Installation Steps:

Unscrew the old oil filter and clean the mounting base.
Make sure the old gasket is removed from the mounting base.
Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the new filter gasket.
Screw the filter on until the gasket contacts the base.
Tighten according to your service manual or filter instructions.
Refill the crankcase, run the engine, and check for leaks.
Check the oil level after running the engine.

Maintenance Note: Change your engine oil and oil filter at least once each year, or as recommended by your owner’s manual based on hours of use and operating conditions.
