The Quicksilver 88228 Propeller Nut is a genuine replacement molded nylon prop nut for select Mercury, Mariner, and Force outboard applications. This propeller nut is used to secure the propeller to the prop shaft where part number 88228 is specified by the Mercury parts diagram or owner’s manual.
Proper propeller nut installation is critical for safe propeller retention and reliable operation. Always install the required aft washer and tab washer before installing the prop nut, and do not operate your engine without the propeller nut properly installed.

Installation Notes:

- Install the aft washer and tab washer before installing the prop nut
- Do not operate the engine without the propeller nut in place
- Grease prop shaft splines with Mercury 2-4-C or Mercury Special Lube 101 to aid future propeller removal
