The Mercury 35-877761K01 Oil Filter is a genuine OEM replacement oil filter for select Mercury and Mariner FourStroke outboards. This screw-on oil filter is designed for Mercury 75-115 HP FourStroke outboards with serial number 1B366823 through 2B094995, as well as select 150 HP EFI FourStroke and 105 HP EFI Jet applications where specified.

General Installation Steps:

Unscrew the old oil filter and clean the mounting base.
Make sure the old gasket is removed from the mounting base.
Apply a thin coat of oil to the new filter gasket.
Make sure the gasket is seated properly in the base of the filter.
Screw the filter on until the gasket contacts the base.
Tighten 3/4 turn. Do not exceed 3/4 turn.
Use an acceptable oil filter wrench if necessary.
Refill the crankcase, run the engine, and check for leaks.
Check the oil level after running the engine.

Maintenance Note: Change your oil and filter at least once each year, every 100 hours of normal use where recommended, or according to your owner’s manual based on hours of use and operating conditions.
