The Mercury 35-8M0123025 Replacement Oil Filter is designed to provide efficient, effective oil filtration for compatible Mercury V6 and V8 FourStroke outboards. This genuine Mercury oil filter helps remove oil contaminants and supports clean oil flow through vital engine components.

General Installation Steps:

Unscrew the old oil filter and clean the mounting base.
Make sure the old gasket is removed from the mounting base.
Apply a thin coat of oil to the new filter gasket.
Make sure the gasket is seated properly in the base of the filter.
Screw the filter on until the gasket contacts the base.
Tighten 1 to 1-1/4 turns. Do not exceed 1 to 1-1/4 turns.
Use an acceptable filter wrench if necessary.
Refill the crankcase, run the engine, and check for leaks.
Check the oil level after running the engine.

Maintenance Note: Follow your Mercury owner’s manual for the recommended oil filter replacement interval, oil type, oil capacity, and service procedure for your specific outboard.
