These flares exceed US Coast Guard requirements for brightness and burn time and are approved as both a day and nighttime signaling device. The new Eco-friendly formula uses no Perchlorate which makes for easy disposal after use.
Boat Flare Specifications:
- Brightness: Up to 950 candela
- Burn Time: Up to 3 minutes each
How to Activate Locator Boat Flare
- Grasp the bottom of the flare below the hold line on the label.
- Remove the black lid on the white cap
- Twist the white cap, remove and save to ignite the flare
- Point away from face and body. Aim downwind
- In a downward motion, strike the button on top of the flare with red abrasive surface on the white cap.
- Hold the burning flare over the side of the boat
- Do NOT wave overhead
