These aerial flares are US Coast Guard approved as day or night signaling device. These marine flares are able to reach an altitude up to 500' making them perfect for distress signal. Each flare is able to burn up to 7 seconds with a brightness up to 16,000 candela.

Orion 12 Gauge Boat Flare Instructions for Loading & Launching
- For most effective use, fire only after sighting a potential rescue vessel
- After sighting the vessel, break the launcher barrel open and insert the 12-Gauge aerial signal
- Hold the launcher above eye level, point straight up and cock
- For a launcher without a safety, hold above your head, pull the hammer back until it cocks
- For a launcher with a safety, hold in the white button while at the same time cocking the hammer
- Verify launcher barrel is pointed up, place your finger on the trigger and squeeze.
